Passive House Builds & Consulting
What Is a Passive House?
Certified Passive House Building Standards is the way of the future – a building practice gaining traction worldwide.
As energy costs rise, homeowners and builders alike turn to more resilient, comfortable and healthy interior environments while reducing ecological footprints one home and/or building at a time.
Mike Vancapelle, Owner & Founder of Blue Water Concepts, and four other team members are Passive House Certified Consultants and Tradespersons. You can rest assured that your Passive House project will be in expert hands when you decide to work with the BWC team.
Why Build a Passive House?
Passive Houses are specifically designed to work in tandem with the local environment, harnessing energy from the sun to warm the house in the winter months, and well thought out ventilation and cooling techniques to reduce the summer’s inside temperatures.
The use of a high-efficiency HRV (Heat Recovery Ventilator) means that your building will have a continuous supply of filtered fresh air, perfect for people with allergies or sensitivities to the smoke we are often experiencing in the summer months.
Typical Passive Houses can reduce up to 90% on heating and cooling energy compared to a traditional house.
This drastically reduces the overall energy requirements and benefits the environment, and helps move us closer to a low-carbon future. It also leads to a lifetime of reduced energy bills and costs for you and your family to benefit from.
